NONLINEAR CHARACTERISTICS OF MICROWAVE FERRITE-PIEZOELECTRIC RESONATOR WITH ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC TUNABLE FREQUENCY

Ferromagnetic resonance resonator consisting of mechanically coupled yttrium iron garnet film and piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate plate is described and investigated. The resonator is tuned in wide frequency band 2.8-8.5 GHz by magnetic field H and in narrow frequency band ~80 MHz by electrical field E. The resonator frequency is a nonlinear function of electrical field E and traces dependence of piezoelectric strain on E. The bistability of dispersion type was observed in the resonator at microwave power level higher than 1 mW. The resonator was switched between steady states with characteristic times of ~1 μs by using weak magnetic or electrical fields.
