Abstract:: A method for predicting earthquakes accompanied by tsunamis based on changes in the statistical properties of the Earth's magnetic field is proposed. Geomagnetic field is analyzed using the measurements taken a few days before the earthquake in the Pacific Ocean. With the help of a statistical functional, which allows one to study the variations in the level of chaos in the random process, the arising a set of structures with a high degree of determinism is revealed. The properties of these structuews can be interpreted as precursors of an earthquake accompanied by a tsunami.
