Nanoparticles of alloys with heavy fermions are shown to be potential absorbers of the terahertz (THz) electromagnetic radiation. Being introduced into the proper matrix, they could be used in the THz detectors as the THz radiation to heat converters. Simple estimations show that this is possible if the nanoparticles with heavy fermions retain at room temperatures a high intensity electron scattering due to holding of the f-band of heavy fermions. The latter can be realized if the energy gap between the upper edge of the f-band and the nearest unoccupied electron level within the light electrons band exceeds a value of kT ≈ 2.6∙10–2 eV.
