This work is devoted to problems of an analysis of electron magnetic resonance (EMR) spectra of heterogeneous nanoparticles. We stress the invaluable contribution of S.P. Gubin to the initiation and growing of magnetic and EMR researches of nanoparticles, which are dispersed to polymeric matrices or stabilized of the nanogranule surfaces. We summarize shortly basic features of nanoparticle EMR spectra and show typical obstacles in their interpretation. The method is proposed which allows extracting separate phase signals from complex EMR spectra of multiphase ferromagnetic nanoparticles. We show also how microwave saturation studies can help to resolve inhomogeneous EMR spectra of paramagnetic nanoparticles.

Keywords: ferromagnetic and paramagnetic nanoparticles, electron magnetic resonance, structural heterogeneity, phase composition, computer analysis of EMR spectra
